The AMS STAC Committee on Artificial Intelligence Applications for Environmental Science invites applications for new regular and student members to join our committee. Committee members will help organize the AMS Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Environmental Science and other sessions, interface with other boards and committees on AI topics, mentor students, support society statements and initiatives, and more. We want to fill multiple slots this year.
Please include a short statement of interest in serving on the committee and your resume/CV in the application. If you have any questions, please reach out to the committee chair, David John Gagne ([email protected])
Our work requires tremendous coordination, commitment, and collaboration between tens of thousands of people, all of whom are dedicated to success. AMS has created a structure of volunteer support for this coordination and collaboration that includes six commissions overseeing 140+ boards and committees. The information provided in this application will be provided to the various commissioners as they begin making appointments for the committees and boards of their commission. Please note that most appointments are made in the fall for terms that begin in January, so you may not hear anything for some time after submitting this form. Also note that great effort is put into maintaining balance on committees and boards in terms of sector, discipline, etc., so you may not be used on a specific committee or board immediately.
Do you know someone who would enjoy this unique opportunity?
