Volunteer for a Board or Committee

If you would like to volunteer your time to Society initiatives and programs, please review the following information.

Some committees and boards have specific requirements of those who serve on them (for example, one must be a CCM to serve on the Board of Certified Consulting Meteorologists). If you want to learn more about a service on a particular committee or board, you can either contact the chair (using the listing of committee and board members and their contact information) or the commissioner of the commission in which that committee or board resides. The commissions with boards and committees are listed below, with links to the contact information of the commission:

Additional committees can be found under:

Your application will be provided to the commissioners as they begin making appointments for the committees and boards of their commission. Please note that most appointments are made in the fall for terms that begin in January, so you may not hear anything for some time after submitting this form. Also note that great effort is put into maintaining balance on committees and boards in terms of sector, discipline, etc., so you may not be used on a specific committee or board immediately.

Commissioner Nomination Opportunities

Nominations for the position of incoming Commissioner are open for two Commissions. Use these links to nominate yourself or someone else for leadership of the Scientific and Technological Activities Commission and Education and Engagement Commission. The deadline for nominations is 2 September 2022.
